Shopping and Dining on East Court Square

You can cover a lot of ground in Decatur without ever needing your car. We have an A+ walkability score and are designated a “Walkers Paradise” by Walkscore. Enjoy strolling along tree-lined streets bursting with color, music, and good times.

Decatur is also a silver level bicycle friendly community. Our city’s infrastructure includes bike lanes, bike sharrows, and bike boxes. Business districts are dotted with bike racks, and several bike repair stations are located throughout the city.

Public Transportation


The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has three rapid transit stations within Decatur city limits providing easy access to metro Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. All three rail stations are on the blue line. Our downtown square sits right above the main MARTA Decatur Station which means you’ll exit right out into our bustling downtown square (Church Street entrance exit on east side). Exit west (Swanton Way entrance/exit) for the MARTA bus loop.

The CCTMA Shuttle

The CCTMA Shuttle offers FREE transportation between the Emory University campus and downtown Decatur. The CCTMA shuttle is funded by the Clifton Corridor Transportation Management Association.

Runs Weekdays 5:30 am – 8:35 pm



Downtown Decatur parking is plentiful, convenient and affordable! There are 300 metered spaces, 2,200 deck and lot spaces, and private spaces located conveniently in front of many of Decatur’s fine merchants. Parking in Decatur is plentiful in decks, metered spaces, and private lots.

The Courtyard by Marriott Decatur Conference Center has select mobility accessible rooms and bathrooms with roll-in showers, adjustable hand-held shower wands, bathtub seats, and transfer showers. Guest rooms have lowered deadbolts and viewports on self-closing doors, and have electronic room keys. Rooms have closed caption TV and are hearing accessible or have hearing accessible kits available. Parks + Playgrounds in Decatur, Georgia

Decatur’s newest and largest greenspace Legacy Park has a brand new, inclusive playground with climbing equipment, slides, tunnel,  and a group swing! Universally-designed and sensory-rich, the playground goes beyond minimum accessibility standards to create a fun play experience for the widest possible array of physical and cognitive abilities.  Enter at the south driveway to Legacy Park, 500 S. Columbia Drive.  Turn right onto the main drive. The playground is located across from the Hyatt Cottage. There is parking near the cottages as well as near the administration building.

MARTA Bus and Rail Transit

Atlanta’s public transportation system, MARTA, provides accessible services across its network of rail and bus lines.
