Downtown Decatur parking is plentiful, convenient and affordable! There are 300 metered spaces, 2,200 deck and lot spaces, and private business specific spaces located conveniently in front of many of Decatur’s businesses.
Solar-powered pay stations and single meters make paying for on-street parking convenient and easy. Pay stations and meters accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit or debit cards, as well as good old-fashioned nickels, dimes and quarters, and dollar coins, too. (They do not accept dollar bills.)

Two Hour Parking Limits
Metered parking has a two hour time limit, enforced Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Metered parking is free after 6 p.m. Need more than two hours? Choose one of the many downtown parking decks.
Why parking meters?
Parking meters are not intended to provide a source of revenue for the City of Decatur. Instead, parking meters are a form of parking management that discourages long-term use of the most convenient on-street parking by downtown employees and MARTA patrons and helps ensure that these most desirable spaces are available for our retail and restaurant customers.
