Celebrate America’s 250th with a lively, hometown-style Fourth of July in Decatur. Watch (or join in) the Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown with decorated floats, wagons, and bicycles at 4 pm. Enjoy the sounds of Wasted Potential and Weapons of Brass Destruction as they walk and play in the parade. Stilt walkers and jugglers add to the fun.

Stay for an evening of live music from G Clef & The Playlist before a spectacular fireworks show! Fireworks begin at dark (approximately 9 pm). Bring your blankets and chairs and join us on the Decatur Square. Get here early to claim your space, and don’t forget your red, white, and blue!

Pied Piper Parade

Join in by foot, bike, wagon, vintage/specialty car, float or any creative method of your choice. Gather friends and family to ride, walk, or skate in this community parade – it’s for anyone and everyone! Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to join the fun too. And don’t forget your red, white and blue!

Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed participants.

Parade line-up begins at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. Pedestrians should gather on the lawn and vehicles will line up in the parking lot. The parade begins at 4 p.m. and winds through downtown, ending on the Decatur Square.

Fireworks

The City of Decatur plans to launch its annual fireworks display on Friday, July 4, beginning at dark (approximately 9 pm). The community is encouraged to find a safe, distanced place to watch the 15-20 minute show that will launch from the top of the DeKalb County parking deck on East Trinity Place. Streets within the fireworks fallout zone will be closed.

Fireworks viewing spots include the downtown Decatur Square, the lawn of the First Christian Church, and the community greenspace at the corner of Commerce Drive and Trinity Place (346 W. Trinity Pl., Decatur, GA, 30030).
