Summer is here and so are the rising ATL temps. Cool off in Decatur with an icy delight. We’ve got the scoop on where to go for frosty goodness whether you are on the Square or exploring another corner of the city!
On the Square
Nothing screams summer quite like ice cream. Atlanta’s hometown Butter and Cream makes its own small-batch ice cream, and it’s all delicious. Summer Strawberry is our classic pick. Kiddos especially enjoy the blue Cookie Monster (colored with butterfly pea flower). Enjoy your cone or cup on their iconic red bench or walk around the corner to the top of the plaza.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is easy to spot on the Decatur Square; the line is worth the wait! And new flavors drop June 6. Classic summer desserts with plot twists: Burnt Orange Dreamsicle, Double Dough, Snow Cone Sorbet, Sparkling Cherry Pie, and Tahini Oat Chocolate Cookies.

East Decatur
Get authentic gelato at Cremalosa! Pick from a dozen flavors at any given time — traditional Italian options including stracciatella and pistachio to American flavors inspired by Southern desserts and candy bars.
