Sycamore Park

Sycamore Street

Sycamore Park is a small greenspace just west of the Avondale MARTA station and nestled in a historic Decatur neighborhood.

Sycamore Street is known for its homes, which are some of the largest historic homes in Decatur. The Death House (named for a family of that name) was moved from 719 to 813 Sycamore Street for the construction of MARTA, Sycamore Park is where the Death House once stood. The front steps of the house were stranded during the move and now provide an entrance to the park.

Sycamore Park is a pleasant place to take a walk or to walk your dog. There are sitting areas and a doggie station on site. Located along the PATH to Stone Mountain, which makes it a great rest spot for cyclists.
