You’re in luck! Decatur has a weekend full of St. Patrick’s celebrations.
Mable-McNally St. Paddy's Parade

Saturday, March 14 • 10:45 am
Fellini’s Pizza, 333 Commerce Dr. to Brick Store Pub, 125 E. Court Square
Follow the bagpipes and the drums! March in the Mable-McNally St. Paddy’s Parade. This Decatur tradition honors two legendary Decatur Irishmen: Maury Mable, “The Pied-Piper of Decatur,” and Patrick McNally, “The Squire of the Square.” The parade begins at Fellini’s (across from Maury’s former home) and ends at Brick Store Pub Community Beer Garden. The celebration also marks the official opening of the Community Beer Garden for 2026. Grab your green and go!
Stick around for the tapping & toasting with pints of Three Taverns Maury Mable Irish Dry Stout, and traditional dishes – corned beef and cabbage, lamb stew and bangers and mash. Plus live traditional Irish music! Cheers to Three Taverns Brewery and Brick Store Pub for organizing this annual event.
History of the “One Man Irish Parade”
Maury Mable first marched through the streets of Decatur on St. Patrick’s Day in 1895 to celebrate his ancestral homeland and continued to lead what became an annual Decatur parade and tradition for more than 50 years. He dressed in striped trousers, tails, and a green tie, and carried a cane, and sometimes strummed a green lyre. At first he marched alone, but eventually, the parade grew to include other local groups.
