Decatur Arts Alliance
The Decatur Arts Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that brings a full-spectrum arts experience to the Decatur community every day through freely accessible public art projects, community events, and annual exhibitions. Each May, the Decatur Arts Alliance produces the Decatur Arts Festival, a celebration of music, dance, theater, comedy, literary arts, and fine arts. The event brings 60,000 artists and attendees from across the Decatur community, the Southeast, and beyond!
The nonprofit produces numerous ongoing public art installations, including the Decatur Artway (an outdoor rotating sculpture gallery), Secret Doors Decatur (miniature doors tucked into nooks and crannies across the city), the Decatur Box Project (traffic signal boxes transformed by murals), and #LookUpDecatur (painted signs installed on lamposts).
In addition to local and community exhibitions throughout the year, the Decatur Arts Alliance also produces The Book As Art, the Fine Arts Exhibition, and Placita Latina’s Latinx Exhibition annually. Check their website for current and upcoming events and to find more information about locating art around Decatur.
